**Before you begin:
Check for every issue in each volume and only keep complete volumes unless otherwise instructed.
If there is not already a bib record for the journal(s) you have received, give the most recent issue to the serials cataloger and ask him/her to create one. Be sure to tell him/her all of the volumes that you are going to be accepting.
1. In Sierra, go to the ACQUISITIONS - Place Orders module.
2. Find the bib record for the journal.
3. Under Summary, select View "o Order" and click the orange "Attach New Order" button.
4. Fill out the order record with the appropriate information. (Form = p Periodical, Location = mczpr, etc.)
Number of copies should be 1
Be sure to update the number of volumes.
The "Identity field" should reflect all volumes accepted, i.e. "v.2 (1979) - v.10 (1989)" or "v.2 no.1 - v.5 no.12" etc.
Order Code 4 should be "n Suppress"
5. Save the new order record and return to the Summary tab.
6. Select View "c Holdings" and click the orange "Attach New Holdings" button.
Make sure the location code is "mczpr" and click Next.
Enter the appropriate vendor code and click Next.
Do not enter a Vendor Title No., click Next.
7. Fill out the Create Card menu appropriately, i.e. frequency, cover date, enumeration, etc., for the volumes you are accepting.
NOTE: The "Cover date" is the date for the first issue that you are accepting.
When you are finished, click OK.
8. Select all boxes on the card. Right click and choose Box Menu then Update Boxes as a Group.
Change the status to "S BND PREP" and click OK
9. Click the Holdings tab on the left side of the screen.
If the volumes that you are adding directly proceed or follow current holdings (i.e. we own volumes 32-34 and you are accepting volumes 35-38) update the existing range.
If the volumes you are adding do not directly proceed or follow current holdings (i.e. we own volumes 32-34 and you are accepting volume 38), or if we did not have any other holdings of this journal at all, click the orange "Add New Range" button. If prompted to choose Levels of Enumeration, select 1. Enter the appropriate range information for the volumes you are accepting. It may be necessary to enter more than one range if there are gaps in the run of journals.
10. Click the Save icon at the top of the page.
11. Make sure the journals are sorted in the correct order and deliver them to the person responsible for binding.
