Usability

Guidelines for measuring the user experience

Morae Training

Morae is a powerful tool that offers several advantages. One advantage is that it records all of the activity on the computer screen as well as a computers visual and audio feed. This allows researchers to record think aloud sessions as well as record interviews. The recordings are easy to mark up for analysis and edit for client presentations. Morae has three parts: a recorder, a manager and observer.

The purpose of creating recordings using Morae is to identify any usability problems, collect quantitative data on participants' performance and collect qualitative data such aesthetics and the feel of the application. These metrics help determine the participant's satisfaction with the product. Morae can be using in conjunction with various other usability methodologies to identify changes required to improve user performance. It can be used anytime there is an interview, cognitive walk through, focus group or a task analysis.
