Undergraduate Library Orientation

McWherter Library has over 100 computers running Windows 10 on all 4 floors of the library, and black+white printers on every floor. Every floor has individual study spots for you to sit down, plug in, and get to work. 

• The 1st floor Commons Room Windows computers are connected to the library's color printer.
• The 2nd floor has Mac and Windows computers.
• The 4th floor is a Silent Zone - a perfect spot to focus.

These spots are first-come, first-served, but there is plenty of room for everyone!

Check out laptops, phone chargers, headphones, and more technology from the Check Out Desk at McWherter Library. All you need is your student ID.

Need a place to meet for your group project? We have space at the Libraries!

McWherter Library:

• Reserve study rooms that seats 5 to 10 folks.
• Reserve a Fishbowl on the 1st or 4th floors that seat up to 25.
• The creatorspace, the sandbox., is open to all students. Reserve technology to use in and outside of the library. 

Health Sciences Library:

• Reserve study rooms that seat 3 to 4 folks.

Music Library:

• Drop-in to communal space.

Lambuth Library:

• Reserve the Presentation Studio. Reserve technology to use in and outside of Lambuth Library.
• Reserve study rooms that seat 3 to 8 folks.

McWherter Library's creatorspace, the sandbox., is your one-stop shop for recording and editing video and audio projects. There are lots of other technologies available as well, ranging from a Cricut to video games to digital art tablets. All of these spaces and technology are free for UofM users

• Check out technology and take it where you need it.
• 1st floor creatorspace - an open space for you to work or play.
• 2nd floor video studio - Full video studio with green screen capabilities.
• 2nd floor podcast studio - Full audio production studio.
• 3rd floor audio studio - Full audio production studio.
• 4th floor presentation practice studio - Practice and record presentations.

You can also study in:

• the Music Library on the main campus (in the Music Building, room 115),
• Health Sciences Library on Park Campus (in the Community Health Building, 2nd floor),
• Law Library on the Law Campus Downtown, and
• Lambuth Library on the Lambuth campus.
