Please note that our audio databases are intended primarily for academic use. If you want to listen online for pleasure, please try one of the free listening sites, such as Classical.com; Live365.com; or Grooveshark.com. Also, try RadioTower.com, which lists a number of public radio stations and other sites. Directly, you might try WKNO (Memphis), WGBH (Boston), WQED (Pittsburgh), KQED (San Francisco), or KUSC(Los Angeles).

In the Catalog

Use the U of M catalog as your first option for locating audio and video recordings, books, e-books, scores, journal titles (but not articles), electronic databases, and microfilm or microfiche.

For tips on searching:  Keyword,  Author/ComposerTitle,   SubjectNumberAdvanced Search.

About Location and Circulation

Request CDs, DVDs, and VHS tapes at the Circulation Desk.  Boxes for VHS tapes are located on shelving near the Circulation Desk and can be browsed there, but the tapes themselves are located at the Desk.  All audio and video materials are found in the online catalog.  Searching for them is similar to searching for books and scores.

Any of our audio and video items may be used in the library.   For circulation outside the library, click here.
