Drs. Verner Mitchell (UofM) and Cynthia Davis (University of South Carolina) have compiled a comprehensive overview of the Black Arts Movement in American literature during the 1960s and 70s. From biographies and photos of individual authors to close readings of specific texts, the Encyclopedia of the Black Arts Movement offers readers who wish to delve deeper into the latter half of 20th-century African American literature the opportunity to become acquainted with dozens of writers, shorts stories, novels, and poetry from some of the country's finest authors.
