JOHN BOATNER, 1939-2020

Mr. John Boatner holds a Bachelor's of Arts from Columbia College and a Master's in Sacred Music from the School of Sacred Music at the Union Theological Seminary. He has taught at the Interlochen Center for the Arts and the University of the South.

Boatner has published thirty five works. His compositions have been performed across the United States, in England, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Bulgaria. He has also published a manual on improvising at the piano.

Boatner played piano in the lobby of the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee during cocktail hour for twenty seven years. He also served as pianist and organist for the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Cordova, Tennessee.
