Worldcat: find more books

To find more books at other libraries that you can request through Interlibrary Loan, search Worldcat with the subject headings in the left column; refine the search results by adding keywords to the subject search on the Advanced Search screen in Worldcat.  Interlibrary Loan takes about a week.

Ebooks: Some of the Libaries' eBooks relating to U.S. history are not in the online library catalog, but you can find and access them by searching "eBooks" on EBSCOhost.

 

Subject headings: A subject heading is a formal term utilized in library catalogs to describe and organize books and other materials by main topic.  You can search online library catalogs with combinations of subject headings and keywords for targeted results. 

Below are examples of  the types of subject headings you can use to locate materials for History 2010:

The subject headings used in most U.S. online library catalogs come from the system called Library of Congress Subject Headings.  You can search for subject headings in the Library of Congress Authorities Catalog, or you can browse our online catalog using the Subject index.
