Welcome to the Higher and Adult Education Guide

This guide will help you with your library research while you are in the graduate HIAD program at the University of Memphis. It will direct you to some of the books and other resources we have in our collection, suggest databases that will help you locate specific journals and articles, and point to some useful web sites. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education to provide extensive access to education-related literature. ERIC provides coverage of journal articles, conferences, meetings, government documents, theses, dissertations, reports, audiovisual media, bibliographies, directories, books and monographs.

Indexes an international range of English-language periodicals and books in the field of education, including several not included in ERIC. Coverage: Indexing 1929- ; with abstracts, 1994- ; select fulltext, 1996-.
Scopus This link opens in a new window
Scopus provides abstracts and citation tracking of peer-reviewed literature in science, technology, medicine, social sciences and arts and humanities. It features tools to track, analyze and visualize research. Researchers who use Web of Science will find Scopus indexes the same fields but with broader coverage. Users needing the Scopus ID" (for example, to use the "Papers by mekentosj" citation software), please use C000040240."

Source of news, information, and jobs for college and university faculty members and administrators.
The University of Memphis maintains domain access to The Chronicle.
